Sergei
Martynov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus: Belarus Is Ready to Settle
Relations with the United States on Friendly Basis
Sergei
Martynov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus being on a visit to Moscow
to participate in the CIS ministerial meeting stated today to media that
Belarus does not accept the pressure by the United States and is ready to
settle the relations on a friendly basis.
Sergei
Martynov emphasized that the position of Belarus is absolutely clear,
transparent and logical. The key to normalizing
the Belarus-US relations is the abolishment of the US sanctions. “If it
happens, further steps will be taken in an absolutely different way”, Sergei
Martynov said.
Commenting
utterances to Echo of Moscow Russian Radio Station recently made by the US
Ambassador to Belarus who had been recalled to Washington for consultations,
Sergei Martynov stated that they do not neither represent the facts, nor
correspond to the status of an ambassador. “We are surprised with amateurish
utterances by the American colleague”, the Minister added.
