Vladimir Putin Congratulates Aleksander Lukashenko

 

Washington, D.C., March 21, 2006

 

On March 20, 2006, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin congratulated Aleksander Lukashenko on winning the presidential election that took place in Belarus on March 19, 2006.

 

Following is the text of a congratulation letter that President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent to President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksander Lukashenko.

Please accept my congratulations in connection with your reelection as President of the Republic of Belarus.

 

The results of the election prove voters' trust in the course that you pursue aimed at further improvement of well-being of the Belarusian people.
