New Legislation on Regulating Production and Sales of
Alcohol
On December 16, 2005 the Decree of the President of Belarus
No 11 of September 9, 2005 "On the Improvement of State Regulation of
Production, Turnover, and Advertisement of Alcoholic, Inedible Alcohol-based
Products and Inedible Ethyl Alcohol" entered into force.
The Decree creates legal framework related to production,
export, import, wholesale and retail trade, storage and advertisement of
alcoholic products. The Decree contains provisions describing the procedure
of obtaining licenses, requirements for facilities selling alcoholic
products, as well as restrictions related to production, distribution and
sales of alcoholic beverages. A part of the Decree is dedicated to measures
of responsibility of legal and physical persons in case of violation of the
provisions of the Decree, as well as outlines steps the Government has to
make to bring national legislation in conformity with the Decree.
The Decree approved the rules on state regulation of
production, turnover, and advertisement of alcoholic, inedible alcohol-based
products and inedible ethyl alcohol. |
