Investment Proposals on Construction of Major Sports Objects in Belarus

The Embassy of Belarus is pleased to announce that Belarusian authorities made a decision to build two major sports objects in the City of Minsk:

1. Training Center of Freestyle with Sports Complex, and

2. Multidiscipline Sports Complex “Minsk-Arena”.

The Training Center of Freestyle, where national freestyle team are to be trained, will be part of a larger sports complex, where visitors will be provided with an opportunity to practice a wide variety of sports and entertain themselves on a commercial basis. The complex will include, apart from freestyle training center, swimming pools, towers for diving, aqua park, saunas, fitness center with beauty shop, etc. The required financial assistance under the project is $20 million.

The Multidiscipline Sports Complex “Minsk-Arena” will include universal sports arena with seats for 13,000 people, skating stadium with seats for 2,000 people, entertainment center, training and technical facilities, multilevel parking garage. Main arena will be capable of holding international level sports events in ice hockey, figure skating, modern rhythmic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, combat sports, game sports. Organization in the sports complex of large commercial sports and entertainment events and provision of different services to the population will shorten the period of recoupment of capital investment. The required financial assistance under the project is $105 million.

Main participating organizations in the projects are the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and Minsk City Administration.

More detailed information on the relevant investment projects will become available shortly.

The Embassy of Belarus would be grateful for any suggestions concerning the possible participation in the projects, including providing credits under the Government of Belarus guarantees. The Embassy is ready to discuss financial terms and other details of the possible loans.
