Free Economic Zone "Minsk" has been successfully functioning for four years already in the certain territory of Minsk and Minsk area. During this time Administration of Free Economic Zone "Minsk" has got up a significant operational experience with foreign and domestic businessmen. Location of FEZ "MINSK":

The total area of Free Economic Zone "Minsk" is about 1400 hà. 900 hà of them are the industrial regions of Minsk, free areas near the city, technological territory near the National airport "Minsk", territory at the crossing of highways A30(Moscow-Paris) and M4/M5(Minsk - Ìogiliov / Ìinsk-Gomel).

Peculiarities of free economic zone "MINSK":

FEZ "Minsk" was created in 1998 with the purpose of attraction of foreign and domestic investments, technologies and management for the organization of modern manufactures in the territory of FEZ, maintenance of favourable conditions of economic development of Minsk region.

FEZ "Minsk" is a capital Free Economic Zone with a favourable geographical position in the centre of the country, significant scientific and business personnel potential;
Availability of originally necessary engineering infrastructure, the not involved industrial areas, free plots of land in the territory of FEZ "Minsk;
Special preferential tax regime of activity of FEZ "Minsk" residents when the volume of tax payments is considerably reduced;

How to become the resident of FEZ"MINSK"

Any Belarusian or (and) foreign physical or legal person irrespective of the form of ownership, registered by the Administration in the legally established order, can be the resident of FEZ "Minsk".

To become the resident of FEZ "MINSK" the entity has to:

receive the legal address in the territory of FEZ "Minsk";
pass the competitive consideration for the right of registration as the resident of Free Economic Zone "Minsk" (with granting of investment offer);
make the contract with Administration of FEZ "Minsk" on conducting of economic activities in the territory of Free Economic Zone.

The investment offers of potential residents represented for competitive consideration and further realization in the territory of FEZ "Minsk" should correspond the following criteria:

creation and development of the manufactures based on modern technologies;
release of export or import substitutive production;
the authorized capital of the created enterprise should be from 50 000 $. US;
financial-economic and technological realizability of the project;
ecological safety of the project.

Prior directions of development of FEZ"MINSK"

Industrial regions of FEZ "Minsk" - "Shabany", "The 11-th km", "Factory "Radian" have the originally necessary engineering and transport communications. The non-used industrial buildings or areas for accommodation of the enterprises organizing the manufacture of modern energy saving production of building, food, polygraphic industry and production of mechanical engineering are given here to the residents of FEZ "Minsk".

Administration of Free Economic Zone "Minsk" together with enterprises of Minsk and FEZ residents has prepared the list of investment projects and invites all the interested enterprises to take part in realization of the given projects in the territory of FEZ "Minsk":

Concrete elements production for public amenity by vibrator pressing method:
· new production of road elements and landscape amenity, which are made from concrete;
Technological production of concrete elements for tunnels:
· purchasing and equipment assembling for production line of subway tunnel, technical rearmament;

Short information on FEZ "MINSK" Activities

Carrying out the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus N 93 of 02.03.1998 "On Establishment of Free Economic Zones "Minsk" and "Gomel - Raton" and the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Free Economic Zones ", Administration and enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk" have achieved the following results:

Today 65 enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk" are registered, 46 of them are with the foreign capital. In 2001 year 28 enterprises-residents of FEZ "Minsk" have been registered (18 of them are with foreign capital and 10 of them are Belarusian).

Dynamics of growth of a number of the registered enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk":

1058 new workplaces are created (including in 2001 - 534). Total working staff at enterprises of FEZ"Minsk" is about 2317 persons.

Dynamics of industrial activity of enterprises - residents of FEZ"Minsk" (thousand dollars USA).

As of 01.01.2002. For presentation various currencies are given to uniform the accounting unit at the rate of National Bank of RB.

Activity of the enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk" is directed to increase of an export share and the development of prior industrial branches in our country, including the manufacture of medical toolkit and medicines, development of modern technologies and manufacture of energy-protecting production in construction, manufacture and packing of food stuffs.

The main branches of manufacture mastered by enterprises - residents of FEZ "Minsk" (As of 01.01.2002).

Attraction of foreign investments is one of the main tasks of Free Economic Zone "Minsk". Foreign capital is about 57% of all declared investments. 17 foreign countries have invested their capital in creation of industrial enterprises in the territory of FEZ "Minsk". These are Netherlands, England, USA, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Germany, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey. For today the largest countries - investors are Netherlands and England (each about 7,3 million dollars USA of the declared investments).

Structure of declared foreign investments of FEZ "Minsk"

With the purpose of improvement the methods and activation of attraction of foreign and domestic investments Administration of FEZ "Minsk" together with Minsk SRI of social-economic and politic problems and Institute of Economics NASB have designed a Complex Programme of FEZ "Minsk" development up to 2005 year.

The main tasks of the Programme are the enlargement of manufacture of export and import-substitutive goods, increase of currency inflow into the Republic of Belarus, introduction of modern technologies and modernization of acting enterprises, assistance to the decision of ecological and social problems in this territory, improvement of mechanisms of creation of favourable investment climate in the Republic.

During 3,5 years Administration of FEZ "Minsk" had 36 sessions of the competitive commission on consideration of investment projects for the right of registration as the FEZ "Minsk" resident, examined 84 investment projects. In 2001 12 sessions of the competitive commissions were held and 28 projects were examined.

The Free Economic Zone "Minsk" was created for 30 years.

Successful activity of residents of Free Economic Zone confirms, that investments in enterprises of FEZ "Minsk" is highly effective and perspective.
