Representations of Foreign Companies

Companies' representations may be set up for the following purposes:

• efficient assistance in implementing agreements on cooperation in the field of trade;

• search of possibilities to promote investment activities, establishment of joint enterprises;

• ensuring execution of commercial and other transactions.

Companies' representations are set up for the period of at least 3 years, the term may be expanded if necessary. A representation of a foreign company in Belarus is not a legal entity and executes all its business on behalf of the company whose interests it is representing.

Foreign companies interested in opening their representations in the Republic of Belarus shall submit a written petition to the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations stating the purpose of opening a representation, and containing the legal address of the office, date and place of the Statute registration. The petition shall also comprise: brief description of the activities of the company, data on the persons authorized to run business on its behalf in Belarus, information about business activities of the company in Belarus and CIS member-states. Official documents shall be attached to the petition (Statute of the company, excerpt from the Trade Roll) in copies certified by the consular institutions with the translation into the Belarusian or Russian languages
