As the Deputy
Prime Minister, Andrey Kobyakov, stressed in the recent meeting with the
director of the World Bank for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, Paul
Bermingham, a memorandum, prepared by the bank, pointed out positive results
of the macroeconomic development of the country.
The Belarusian
government is engaged in a program designed for social and economic
development for 2006-10. "We'll treat, with interest and great attention,
recommendations and proposals which are contained in the memorandum. We are
very interested in what is thought of us and suggestions made to us," Mr.
Kobyakov mentioned.
Recently
interactions of the Belarusian party with the World Bank have intensified.
In particular, preparations to organize the project for rehabilitating
regions which have suffered from the Chernobyl power station accident, are
now being actively conducted.
“We intend to
prepare this project as soon as possible and to implement it. I hope, that a
loan contract with the World Bank will be approved by the end of this year”,
Paul Bermingham expressed his opinion optimistically at a government
meeting.
