International Scientific and Practical Conference “Emergency Situations:
Prevention and Elimination” will be held in Minsk on June 6-8, 2007 on the
initiative of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of
Belarus.
The main objectives of the Conference are:
to discuss scientific and technical progress in the field of fire, natural
and manmade disasters protection; to work out proposals on promotion of
international scientific and technical cooperation and application of
perspective ideas into practice.
The Conference will discuss the following issues:

normative
and legal, economic and educational provision of life safety
-
prediction,
prevention and reduction of social, economic and ecological consequences of
emergencies
-
information
and analytical systems for monitoring and provision of rapid response to
emergencies
-
organization of fire and rescue services function
-
means and
technologies to carry out rescue and fire fighting operations
-
devices and
systems for control and provision of life safety parameters
-
emergency
medicine, rehabilitation of the injured and rescuers
-
international cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of
emergencies
Date and venue of the Conference:
The plenary and
sectional meetings of the Conference will take place in the Concert Hall
“Minsk” (5 Oktyabrskaya St., Minsk).
Within the framework of the Conference there will be held an exhibition of
rescue equipment and recovery aids
“Rescue
equipment, fire and industrial safety”.
To the
organizations interested in advertising of their developments, promotion of
production to the Byelorussian market it is offered to send the application
form for participation in the exhibition by March, 30, 2007
The
participants of the conference will be able to visit the fire-testing
laboratory of building constructions of Research Institute of Fire Safety
and Emergencies and operational-tactical exercises of fire-rescue units on
the territory of Institute of Retraining and Professional Development under
the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.
Language
The official
languages of the conference are Russian and
English.
No
registration fee is charged.
Call for papers
The presentation in Russian or English should be of no more than 2,5 printed
pages. Surname, first name, job title and organization of speaker should be
included as well. It should be printed in single line spacing, type 14,
margins up/down 2, left 3, right 1,5 centimeters, font Times New Roman. The
presentation should be prepared using commonly available Word Processing
Software. The Ministry for Emergency Situations uses Microsoft Word 97/2000/ХР
or RTF. The title of the presentation should be in capital letters. Please,
try not to use the table of styles, and not to use tabulation or blanks for
indentations. Also try to avoid using wide tables that my need landscape
pages.
The printed version of the presentation should fully correspond to
electronic version. The presentation will be reviewed. The main criteria are
topicality and accordance to the conference subject. The Organizing
Committee may turn down papers if they do not meet the above-mentioned
requirements.
Two copies of the presentation and
registration form should be sent to the
Organizing Committee by mail and e-mail, and by mail on CD/FDD3,5 no later
than February 1, 2007.
Important dates

Announcement on inclusion of presentations into the program of the
Conference and distribution of the second announcement – till April 30,
2007.
